CQ 311 compared to norc cq556

Some but not all I've heard.
I thought I heard about different threading
On the end of the barrel. Not sure though.
Internals should be ok.

The CQ311 definitely has different/metric threads for the buffer tube but people have forced new tubes on and I believe their is an adaptor floating around out there.

Not 100% on this one but I think the barrel retaining nut may be metric as well, no biggie though, just re-use the nut if swapping barrels or swap out the complete upper.

On the CQ 556 rifles all parts are interchangeable with regular ARs AFAIK. Some have problems with handguards like the MOE though.

The threading adapter was carried by Fabsports for a time. they're about an inch long, work decently.

I don't know if the barrel nut is metric.

Norinco cq a 5.56

A bit off the subject, but useful info. After swapping out the internals and buffer tube of two NORINCO CQ A 5.56's into Aero Precision lowers I found all part were 100%, with the exception of the hammer and trigger pins. The hammer and trigger pins on the Norcs are about 2 or 3 thou larger than the standard American pins. Not much of a difference, but on a Aero lower I found the pins would not fit into the holes. The smaller American pins work fine on the hammer and trigger- no walking at all. Aeros are good standard config. lowers I expect most NORINCO CQ A 5.56 parts would fit the same in any other American or Canadian lower.
