CQB 7 Video

Some gaming going there eh? Noticed the mag change after 4 rounds on the VZs so you didn't have to charge it after the mag change. Not my cup of tea but to each their own.

Saves time. Can make a big difference on your score if you can't get one more round off after the "AND STOP!"

This may be a nonsense remark but is proving clear before transition REALLY that necessary , looks to me like it costs time when its not even necessary...

In my opinion, YES it is required. You have to remember that CQB events are open to anybody.....not just folks with a lot of training. It is not worth the risk of an injury from an ND.

Showing clear for transition means you simply drop the mag and show your safety officer the chamber is empty. He/she then taps your shoulder to let you know you are good to go. Doesn't really take much time at all. If you and your safety officer are in tune we are talking 1-2 seconds.

You only need one hand to hold your rifle, you can have the other hand on the butt of your pistol at the same time, so you can draw as soon as the rifle drops. Just takes a little practice for you as the shooter and for the safety officer. When I am safety I try hard to verify clear as fast as possible, so that my safety officer will do the same for me when I am shooting (good shooting karma baby)

Of course it saves time! Lol It's not how it's supposed to be shot though.

IMO, as long as you are sticking to the specified load out for your mags, how you manage them during the match is up to you. For instance we all do a "tactical reload" after the second snap in Match 1 and 3, rather than doing a mag change in the middle of the next exposure.

Now if you are dropping a mag with rounds in it and still have enough to complete the match, you are no sticking to the load out and that is just plain cheating :)
