CQB match at Guelph Rod and Gun Club 19 October

Thanks to everyone that made it out! I had a great time putting this on and hope to do more next year.

Special thanks to Tim K for making the trip down to oversee my shenanigans. Also to alphaq227 for working his butt off as ARO and helping run the line.
Door prizes from Rabe Pellet Pins, Jeff A, and Vortex Canada were all much appreciated. Oh, you missed the door prizes? That's what you get for going home early, those that stayed to the end thank you for increasing their odds.

I learned a bit and will make some improvements for future matches; load out sheets for everyone, and better yard lines for example.

How many people had to borrow a pen because they lost, forget, eat, or otherwise misplaces theirs? Yeah it was a lot.

I think the "cold"pistol transition is actually more difficult than the "hot" transition. With the hot I shoot the rifle rapid fire very fast so I have a few extra seconds for the pistol.

The cold transition requires a draw, racking, and 10 shots with a reload - all in 10 seconds. I fired the first pistol target in the usual rapid fire - with a decent aim for each shot, and then had to shoot the second target as fast as I could pull the trigger.

Looks like I have to learn to shoot aimed shots even faster. Good stuff.

I'm glad I attended. I even yelled at people:p. This matched showed how other ranges can be adapted to CQB and the format altered but still be quite workable. Well done dink27 and your assistants and the Club directors.
I believe that CQB can expand if Clubs have the will and more importantly the people willing to put on matches. This match showed that and should be an ispiration for other Clubs. I'm sure dink27 and his fellow Club members learned what worked and what needs to be changed. This opened my eyes to what can be done at my own Club and I was looking at how to adapt things by watching how things were run. We also saw that when it comes to weather, dinkfoo will never out do Timfoo:p.
I also learned why Ganderite likes being on a target with old guys. Old guys don't run fast on the advances so he doesn't have to move fast either when he is a safety person:D.

Thanks to the organizers and all those who helped. I had a lot of fun, people are friendly and the match ran very well. Also realized that I need to practice a lot more. Keep events like this happening please!!!!

Thanks to Dink and JRWQOR for lending me mags and a rifle and ammo( on a side note, my wife was none too happy to go grocery shopping and find an ammo can full of 762 sitting on the back seat) . Was a great day thanks for putting up with a noob.

Practice for sure. I still suck with pistol at 20 yards. Gotta spend the ammo practicing at 20.

Great day regardless of the rain. Thanks to those who put the effort for what looks like the first private club CQB in Ontario. First of many.

But, wow, I broke 400... Now if I can only make this happen at Borden...
