I was wondering what most competitors use as a ZERO for their NON-Magnified Red Dot or Holographic sights, Aimpoits/EoTechs?

25m or 50m ZERO?

Depends on the height above bore.

On a AR-15, the sight sits very high. As a result, there is a noticeable tendency for the gun to shoot low at close range. This is a big issue in CQB.

If you do not intend to shoot much at 10 to 30 yards, there is a lot to be said for a 50 yard zero. That will get you solid hits on a Fig 11 out to 400 yards without any hold over, although the 400 yd hits will be in the crotch.

I use a 50 yd zero with my Eotech and it also cowitnesses with my irons. Good to go for anything at our range which is only 200 yds.

I guess I will need to test my hold overs at 10,15,20,25, 30 and 35 meters to see...im using an EoTech EXPS2-0, EoTech recommended zeroing at 50m then the bottom of the ring of fire is dead on at 7m (circle is 65moa)
