Thanks to all the shooters that made it out yesterday! 35 Shooters in total, and we could not have asked for much better weather! Huge thanks to Barney, Jeff, and Ken for running the range, Greg for his stats work, and Dave. Dave was our quartermaster, continues to mentor our new range staff, coordinates with rang control, and developed the material for the vintage CQB match.

It’s been said before, and I will say it again.....”if you wanna be great, be grateful....”

Big thanks to Dink27 because he is brave and patient enough to sign on as Match Director for the ORA CQB Chair, he is a volunteer and without his assistance, these matches ain’t gonna happen.

More thanks to Davek, theMarauder for always stepping up and putting up and propping up the QM/Mentor role for the other volunteers. What’s really nice to see is the way everyone is trained to help out, set up, pitch in, and clean up! It’s a wonderful community effort and it’s always refreshing to come back and see the fantastic evolution. Remember that I have the joy of exporting this game across the country and the ORA (you folks) set the standard of how things are done. I’m not joking! Hahahahaha

Many thanks to my ARO volunteers Ken and Jeff....I’m super pleased to have them on board to assist with the safety aspect of running these matches. These guys were super reliable and trustworthy. I could not run a safer match (conduct) without their extra sets of eyes. Ken, many thanks for monitoring the Range Control radio....trust me, that role frees me up to keep track of the necessary safety on the firing line!

GregD, thanks for the efficiency running the stats job. Without reliable stats entry this match could turn out to be a ShztShow! Also thanks for showing the way on how to shoot Match 4, Advance and Transition stage. Having all five pieces of brass in the air would make several civilian RO’s blush (some ranges frown on the 1 shot per 1 second rule)! Hahahahaha

And most importantly, major thanks go to TimK. These matches are his legacy (I’m not trying to blow sunshine up anybody’s kilt) since he did all the early ground work fleshing out these matches back in / around/ before 2005/6/7. We are all part of that legacy. For those of you who don’t know this mentor for many of us, you were standing close to him at my Range Safety Briefing! One day , take him out to Angus Sushi for a plate of Sashimi or Tempura or Green Tea Ice cream! Thanks!

And finally to my shooters.....

Thanks for your diligence and focus.... thanks for the community we share! That’s what we have especially in light of the coming Shzt storm all around our group of vetted and responsible sports folk!

Cheers, Barney

And a big thanks to whom ever arranged perfect shooting weather.

I wanted to shoot the Vintage but brought the wrong caliber. Next time will be a FR8 in 7.63x51 or a #4T.

Ruger PC9 Carbine. Uses Glock mags.
