Is there anything out there that can be injected into a crack in a stock in order to repair/ prevent worsening of the crack?

Thanks,

Bob

Sure Bob, there's always something that can be done. But, depends on where it is, how serious / complex... and how neat the end result should look. Can you post some pics? I repaired a few really sad looking stocks, and if done properly usually things can end up looking reasonable.

Still, sometimes finding a spare can also be a good idea! :)

Lock Tite makes their own version of "Crazy Glue" excellent product. Works great on stocks.

Crazy glue?

Inject crazy glue

Crazy glue is probably not the best option. It needs very close fitting of the parts to give good bonding. There are much better glues available, depending upon the size of the crack, the location, and if reinforcement is needed.

As LOUTHEPOU states, post some good pictures, and we can help you. Without pictures, your information is too general to be of much use.

I think there are stocks that have life time warr. for about 70 dollars so if you minus what you spend in glue and time it's not too badly priced

LOL!! No, but thanks for the compliment. I stopped in my local store, there is a fellow there who loves old browning shotguns as much as I do. I picked up a browning double auto with cracks at the wrist, and this is what he suggested. It worked like a charm. It has the consistency of water, so it flows into the smallest cracks, and it won't expand like gorilla glue.

Thanks everyone,

I don't have the gun yet, but was enquiring in advance. I'll post photos when I get it.

Now that you mention it, I'd forgotten, I used the hot stuff to repair a crack in a guitar top. I think that it comes in 2 viscosities
