Thank you - The Breast Cancer Fundraiser Match was a Success!!!

After months of organizing & planning this very important event in Quebec, it came true on April 18th 2009 – CTM & CTVSP came together & put on 8 stages – 151 rounds level 2 IPSC match that was a great success & proud to announce that we raised $3,710 for the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation. We also raised $470 from the draw of the Pink Ruger 10/22, won by R. Wilke, which will be donated to “Les Seinspathiques” - my wife’s team doing the 60 km walk to end breast cancer on the weekend of Aug. 22-23 2009.

With the generosity of CTM members & IPSC shooters across the country we were able to raise an additional $850 for the weekend to end breast cancer.

This important event could not have been possible and such a success, without some very key elements;

Henri Cardinal: My co-match director, a friend with integrity that is truly devoted to IPSC, it was a pleasure and honour working with you and I would like to Thank You for all your support. In my opinion we are losing a pillar in IPSC Quebec and IPSC Ontario is extremely lucky to have an individual like you moving to Ontario.

Walter Pereyma: If it wasn’t for you, all that stuff that goes on behind the scenes – that most think magically appears by pressing a button on a little yellow box – I would like to Thank You for your contribution & support to IPSC & this great cause.

CTVSP: Our co-host club – Marco, Luigi & Max. Thank you for the openness & great support to IPSC & the Breast cancer research. Let’s work on a date for next year. 

All the helpers: These are the guys that gave their required time & as much as their schedules permitted. Especially the ones that helped but did not shoot. Thank you. Tim Pike – Kevin Braken – Tom Sorger – Bob Rolland –Ernst Jost – Pascal Sicotte – Philippe Proulx – Mario Kolethras – Tommy Markessinis – JP Drolet – Tim Ballaine – Jonathan Nardi – Ron Wilke – Sylvain Boisvert – Eric Loiselle – Normand Lussier – and I am truly sorry if I forgot anyone

All the competitors: See the results

We all know someone who has been touched by this terrible disease;
I, for one, don’t have to look too far:
I have lost my Mom to breast cancer
My wife who was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2008 & proud to say she is cancer Free today
My assistant has just been diagnosed with breast cancer on both breasts
One of our staff members has just lost is girlfriend to cancer (the day before our match)

I can proudly say that IPSC shooters across Canada (Proud Gun Owners, like myself) helped raise over $5000 for Breast cancer Research.

A Heartfelt Thank You to all of You!

Frank Nardi

A challenge: To all IPSC Canadian Sections: We challenge you to raise for breast cancer research more than $5000 on a level II IPSC match held at 2 clubs. Help us fight cancer with guns!
