CRAFM did the impossible!

I have owned a Glock for a while and when the new Gen 5 G17s came out, I said meh. But when I learned about the G17 Gen 5 MOS FS, I knew I needed it. I sold my gen 4 and headed straight to my local GTA dealer. I was ready to purchase one with cash in card. But when I got there, I noticed it had a cut out (cue the infomercial in my head showing me how my pinky would get chopped up by it (but it actually did when I shot a friend's)). Any way, that was a deal breaker. Went to the next store, same deal. After going to every GTA dealer I could think of and getting mixed messages like "they never made them without a cut out" (when I just saw one on EE and was beaten to the punch), I couldn't find this 'great white buffalo' Glock.

I posted on CGN and people confirmed that I wasn't crazy - these elusive Glocks were 1st run, Made in Austria, pistols and they didn't have the cut out. I emailed and called EVERY SINGLE GUN SHOP in CANADA that had Glocks posted on their sites. No one had one without a cut out (again receiving comments like "they never made them")....until John at CRAFM emailed me back a couple of days later saying he might have found one. I was back and forth asking to confirm with photos of this unicorn, and then he emailed me the magical words..."confirmed". I paid for it but was still skeptical... I just got it today and I am happy to tell you that both miracles and unicorns do exist! Love this Glock!

I'm not clear on what or where the 'cutout' is.

Bottom of the magwell Glock put a cut out in the front to help strip a stuck mag. Everyone hated it. I did hear that Glock is making new Gen 5s without the cut out due to all the complaints. They should get easier to find soon.

Pretty sure that the latest, V2, G17 and G17 MOS don't have the cutout, do have the slide and frame forend properly bevelled, and do have front slide serrations.

It sure seems much improved.

Hey Mustang, Rampart does have G17s but not the ones without the cut out. This is the message I received from them:

Our firearms section is only available to current and ex members of Law Enforcement and Military. If you fall under either of these, please consider signing up for our Shield program.
Our G17 does have the small cutout.

As far as I know, the only Glock 17 MOS frames without the cutout are ones stamped "Austria" on the slide. These are available for purchase in the US. Canadian distributors only receive Glocks that are made in the US, and the slide is stamped as such. Most Canadian retailers show pictures of the Glock 17 MOS stamped "Austria" which is deceiving, and basically false advertising. Believe me, I went through all this crap when I received mine from Tenda.
