Creative chicken stampings.....

No, no, no - IT'S TOTALLY LEGIT !!!!!!!

They were used by the SS Donner und Blitzen Regiment when they were surrounded at Novosibirsk in the winter of '43.

They parachuted a detachment of inspectors in special just to apply the marks to captured Russian rifles. Couldn't very well use them without them, could they ? Against regulations, and hey, you guys KNOW how the Germans were about regulations ....................... :D

Anyone else remember a large importer of military surplus firearms offering a variety of similarly marked non-German guns?

There was a guy (the same one?) who posted pics of his "SS marked" m44 over on wehrmacht awards a few month ago and he thought it was real, mabe this guy does as well.

BTW* I have an original SS marked chinese SKS here, ill sell it for $50.00...

SOLD! Just ship it to me with some grinding paste so I can get the Nazi CaRp off the rifle. :D

BTW I'd preffer some Long Branch markings, and Canadian Arrows etc, Mmmkay. :D

apparently the nazi's also dipped them in CLR to bring them to regulation "in the white" configuration...

I have a ww2 tasco and mounts that would make that gun worth a billion dollars, too! Of course, only if I cut down the barrel and add a synthetic stock...

I can just imagine the "SS" wanting to use a rifle designed by the "Untermenschen". Especially since the ss always got supplied ahead of the rest of the army.

FWIW, the Germans did use numerous Mosin capture rifles and also gave tons (literally) the Finns during the war. It's even possible some Mosins would be waffen stamped prior to 1943 when the WaA office downsized and sent 2/3 of it's strength into the army's front lines.

HOWEVER...

A German marked Russian rifle would have to be 1943 or earlier, an M91/30, M38 or M91 or SVT - NOT an M44. It would also be rare and also difficult in the extreme to prove providence for, so therefore wouldn;t command much of a premium, if any.

Show of hands - how many ppl think that rifle's been through a certain gun shop in Alberta???

Hmmm the seller has a e-mail option

Hmmm <gordon.craig@sympatico.ca>

So I guess that my Nazi marked 870 Express is a fake  oh well.

Why would the germans bother to stamp captured enemy rifles anyway? Just curious.
