I have a Billy Dixon sharps made by Pedersoli with just primitive iron sights. I am looking at getting a creedmoor with front tunnel sight.Pedersoli puts out a professional set in a wood case USA170 thru to USA174 What I would like to know is any of these worthwhile getting ? I was reading on an american gun sight about the Pedersoli brand and they didn't seem impressed with them. Is this just americans cutting up something that isn't made in the U.S.A or would I be better off with a differnt brand? If these sets are good quality what would be the best choice,I would like to do some long range shooting but would also use it for hunting ..........TOM

Don't waste your money on the boxed set. The rear sight that comes with it has far too much slop in the verticle ladder to be of any real use as a target sight. I returned a set because of it. Ended up using one of their Creedmore rear sights that sell for over $350 to get one that was worthy as a target sight as oppossed to a hole filler. There are better sights available from USA makers, try looking on "Buffaloarms.com". You will find them easy to deal with and very informative regarding the products they have for sale.

i got the target siouette model in 45-70 bought an after market sight from elwood epps in ontario and an lyman tunnel front sight with inserts cost was just over 200 and they work great on my sharps,,blair

I have a Pedersoli USA430 rear sight and a USA455 front sight on my Uberti Hiwall and I am quite satisfied. The sight settings seem totally repeatable. It has seen fairly regular use for the past 3 years. If I was starting over I would probably go for a Soule type rear because the windage adjustment scales are a lot easier to read than on the model I have and I would go with the front that has a level bubble. I have heard a lot of people slam Pedersoli sights but can't understand why, other than that they are made overseas. A shooting buddy also has the same sight set up on his pedersoli sharps and he has no complaints.

Shooter's Choice in Waterloo, ON had a pretty good selection of Pedersoli sights and their prices seemed reasonable, thats where I bought the 2 I own. Grandlund Firearms in Campbell River may also carry them as they advertise that they are a Pedersoli distributor too.

Have you looked at Soule Sights the Montana Vintage Arms sell ?They are top of the line. They have the hadley eye cup, vernier with micrometer settings, you don't have to get out of position to adjust:)
The good news is the Russians have copied it and sell for approx 1/2 price of the Soule.
The Hadley eye cup,has different size apertures which you need for different light conditions Very important !It makes the difference between a fuzzy bullseye or a sharp black one.
Cheers nessy.

Yes I've seen the Hadley eye cup and I am planning on getting one for my Pedersoli sight in the near future. My eyes are still in pretty good shape and focus hasn't been a problem but I think it would still be helpful at times.

Hmm. Quite a bit to this. Having a look at a C Sharps original rear sight today for the first time I was kind of in awe. Personally, its good to see some 'knock offs' trying their luck building sights too......
