I put a scope on my Cooey .22 rifle with a grooved receiver. After a few shots I noticed that the scope mounts are creeping forward on the receiver. I have tightened them as much as possible, but they still move. Any suggestions?

A couple posible causes come to mind.

1. Check the little clamps on the rings that bite into the dovetail groove aren't upside down. On some rings, one side of that little clamp is loner than then other. If you accidentally flipped it around during installation, it may not tighten properly.

2. Your rings or dovetail groove is out of spec. The chances of the dovetail being out of spec is slim. If you're using cheap ebay scope rings, that could be your problem. Buy better quality rings and retry.

As far as I know (check to make sure), there are two sizes of dovetails................. .375 (3/8) and 11 MM.
Make sure you have the right rings.

I had a cheapy scope on a cheapy 22 that kept moving. I scraped the paint off where the claps grab the rail and put a dab of crazy glue on all 4 points of contact. It Never moved again.
