Hi Guys,

I'm having a bit of problem with my crimping die.
I start reloading 9mm ammo and almost all are good - 1st stage=good/2nd stage=good/3rd stage=good/4th stage(crimping die)=prob. maybe someone can help me with this.
I am using a 4-hole lee turret press with Lee deluxe carbide die.
I did what the instruction says about crimping die
1. screw the die in until it just touches the shell holder.
2. back out the adjusting screw.
3. put a loaded round in the die, turn the adjusting screw in til you feel the the case mouth.
But the problem is I can even feel the tip of the bullet and the adjusting screw keep on going in until it reaches the top of the die and can't turn it anymore.
do you know what I'm doin wrong with this crimping die?
Pls. let me know..I'm all set except for this problem.
thaanx in advance.

Here is how I would solve that problem, get rid of the crimp die. I know there will be lots of people that say you should use it but I have loaded thousands and thousands of 9mm without a crimp and never a problem. The only bullet I crimp is my 223 and will be doing my 300WM.

Found the problem..floating piece inside the crimping die is missing.
I called LEE precision and they said they're going to send me one. I was thinking about not crimping it..I just don't know how important this step to the 9mm round.
anyways, thanx for your help.

How do you reload 9mm without taper crimping to remove the belling of the case mouth?
