I was being a brass rat at the local pistol range and picked up a bunch of Winchester NT 45 ACP brass, the ones with the small primers. I like these because I don't have to change primer assemblies on my press when switching from 9mm or 223.
Most were completely normal, but a few had crimped primers, which I haven't seen on this brass before. I ended up crushing about 12 cents worth of primers in these cases, that's a jacketed .45 bullet down the tubes! If these become more common, I might have to spend time swaging or chamfering pistol primer pockets, something very annoying in high volume world of pistol reloading.
Has anyone else seen these? Is this the way WinNT brass is going to be from now on, or did only a couple lots get their primers crimped?
