In the past I've used some once fired 223 brass where the primers seem to have a bit of a ridge holding them in. The primers took a bit of effort to remove with my sizer die. After that I used my deburring tool to remove as much of the crimp as possible. For the most part the brass reprimed ok but some casings were a tad tough to reprime.

Is this type of brass alright to use and is there a more efficient way to prep it ?

The brass is fine to use. I use a countersink bit to remove the crimp then I go in with a primer pocket uniformer afterwards.
Never caused any issues for me.
I don't deprime crimped brass with the sizing die I find the primers usually get stuck about Halfway out. I have a lee depriming bushing with a decapper you hit with a hammer, (don't know it's exact name but it was cheap at WSS) A bit of a pain but only need to do it once.

I use a LEE universal depriming die to punch all the spent primer's out.
Sometime's I have to come part way down then go back up to make sure the primer's don't stick onto the depriming pin.

the tool for that is called a primer pocket reamer. I have one by Lyman and im sure everyone else makes one too. I heard that the military crimps in their primers. A reamer will take care of the crimp. As for decapping...
