The week end before last the Crohn's and Colitis committee in Eastend, Saskatchewan put on the second annual two day Trap shooting Tourney to raise funds for The research and cure for these terrible diseases. I want to give them the recognition they deserve for this wonderful fund raising event. This was their second year and in the two years a little town of 600 + raised a total of $175,000.00. One of my young friends was diagnosed almost 20 years ago. He is a real hunter and shooter and a member on here. His Brother along with a few friends spear headed the event. It has turned out to be the second biggest private fund raiser for these diseases in all of Canada. Half of the funds go to the Crohn's and Colitis foundation and the other 50% helps out non profit organizations in town such as the rink complex, Hall etc. No promotion here they are doing very well and a number of great sponsors have stepped up to the plate. There is a banquet, auction and dance as well. Saturday the first day are 75 targets. Sunday is divided into four flights and a final round of 25 to determine the winners. Championship flight pays $1000.00 , the other three flight winners each get $500.00. Here is a thumbs up to a great bunch of guys and gals for getting this done. Just a couple pics.

Here I am shooting, very embarrassed  last year I tied for first in top flight, lost by one bird in final. This year shot in bottom flight, oh well  It's just so great to see the support for this and the young guys out there shooting.

This is great!!!! I have a friend who has crohn's for quite some time, also a very avid clay shooter.

I participated in a charity skeet shoot for cancer a few years ago, great way to raise some money for a good cause and shine some positive light
on the shooting community.

I like to imagine those dastardly low 6's as cancer cells myself...nothing more satisfying than dusting them.

Keep up the good work!!!

Thanks a bunch for the comments gang.
Thanks to people like BSA Jack, his wife and all the people that donate money, time and general interest. Our event has become a bit of a eye opener for the Crohn's and Colitis foundation of Canada.
We will be continueing to have the major sponsors shooting in the event. And the banquet will be a go as well for next year.
Thanks to the man that started this thread. Much appreciated buddy.

Post the details here for next year, and I'll try to get a truck load of guys!!! I love this kind of thing.

I'd like to travel once in a while to shoot and this sounds like the perfect one to go to and help raise funds.
Please let us know about next years.
