Crooked Tikka Sling Stud

I bought a Tikka T3 and I'm attaching a Magpul bipod but the sling stud appears to be crooked so it isn't lining up with the bipod attachment. Is this normal? Should I be trying to force it straight?

You should be able to use an appropriate sized awl/punch and turn it until it aligns properly. I’ve done this method in the past with no ill effects on either the post or stock.

I concur, better to ask the question than to make a big mistake, no matter how silly the question may seem to those with intimate knowledge on the subject being asked about.

I agree, not a stupid question, on a wood stock if the stud is lacking a washer, it might be a good idea to loosen the nut inside the stock [if it's not a screw], I have seen a few rifles with a circle scratch around the stud.
