Hi everyone,

Ive always wanted to put a 25 cal barrel on my crossman 2240. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with .25 cal barrels in 10-14 inches in length. Ive looked into the quackenbush conversions that were available long ago, and they seemed to work well for everyone that got one.

What deters me is that you can have the same weight pellets in .22 and .25, and the impact spread over a larger area probably is less effective. I think it could be a novelty really with no practical use, but i may be wrong and want one anyways.

If anyone has heard of a canadian source for .25 cal barrels for the crosman steel breech let me know please.

Thanks

I called Baker and asked about the .25 cal barrels. They had them in stock but would not ship to Canada. I saw the the Quackenbush .25 cal 2240. That is what I wanted to replicate. I have not found a .25 cal barrel blank in Canada.

I just built a 25 cal Crosman Mark1 with a 12” bbl that I purchased from the fore sale section on the Canadian airgun forum.
It’s pushing a 24gr pellet to 425fps on CO2 and is my bunny buster. It’s agreat way to be able to handgun hunt legally in Ontario

Contact "Whitewolf" on the Canadian Airgun Forum as he has done many 2240 builds .The standard 2240 barrel is what 7/16" in diameter?

Baker doesn't ship anything at all to Canada. Plus shipping from them was crazy when I ordered parted for my 312, when he did ship.

Yeah Kim does great work.

Also contact Bob AKA Rsterne on CAF, or GTA. He would know where.

I guess the first question in my mind is will those .25 barrels work with the standard crosman steel breech kit?

No they're blanks, would have to be turned down.

I have crosman 2240 in .25 cal. Didn't shoot much yet and didn't measure the FPS yet.
The .22 steel breach works fine but you'll need a bigger diameter probe. Mine is custom made.
The shooting experience feels more fun. I tried shooting in the foam cube and the cube moved with every shot.
I imagine shooting in cola cans will make them fly.
I'm going to measure FPS and if it less than 400 FPS, I will work on increasing volume of valve.
