I recently purchased this pistol to play with inside during the winter months. I noticed that the front sight is canted off to the right a bit. From the rear, the front sight needs to go a bit counter clockwise to be straight. It does affect the POI somewhat but it just looks bad and needs to be straightened out. Is the barrel screwed into the receiver of is it held there some other way? I even wonder if the front sight could be twisted in the same direction, which would also correct the situation but it appears to be epoxied on as there is no screw holding it. I know that these are a popular pistol to be modified so i expect that someone will have an answer. Dave

The barrel is not attached to the receiver but the transfer port hole in the receiver needs to line up with the transfer port hole in the barrel.
Just twist the sight until it lines up.

The front sight is just pressure fit onto the barrel, there is a flat spot on the end of the barrel to align the sight. The sight can be slid off, if the flat spot is not straight it can misalign the sight. This is easily remedied by correcting the angle with a file. Re indexing the barrel is not possible due to the transfer port. The stock sights on a 2240 are cheap and rudimentary, with a lot of room for improvement. I have made new sights for my 2240 pistol and 2240 carbine. The rifle I built from a 2240 has no sights, only a 4x32 scope.

Thanks guys for the assistance. You would think that, at my age, my eyes wouldn't be able to tell the difference! Now I know what the fix will be. I just hate to have to fool with something that is new. It does function OK otherwise. So now to get at it. Dave
