So my Son and I visited the local hardware store to pick up some 22 shells for gophers and I saw this pistol behind the counter, Co2, .22 cal..Hmmmm...why not. So the pistol, Co2 ctg's and pellets cost me a little over $110 bucks. We took it along with us while doing some gopher shoosting. Well as we sat in the truck getting ready to jump out and go for a walk a gopher popped his head out of his hole about 5m away. Since he was on my 12yr old sons side he took a shot and nailed him right in the head, "lights out" for him. We shot few more this way with all shots under 7m.
This little pistol would be ideal to carry for grouse during rifle season and what not IMO, not a bad buy if I do say so myself.
Its accurate and a hard hitter provided you keep your ranges within its limitations.

You can mod these guns easily to get higher velocity. And there are tonnes of aftermarket parts for them. They are the Lego of the airgun world.

The only thing I think I'd like to do is extend the bbl, put on a shoulder stock and increase the mv (the shoulder stock is to eventually add a bigger C02 bottle), and maybe some optics. I'd like to make this piece be able to WACK a gopher out to 20 paces easy!!

wow I wish I would have know you were looking for 2240 parts I've got almost everything that you just said And have no more need for it. let me know if your interested

Great pistol for the money, just keep in mind that you can sink a small fortune into a custom builds...lol

Runs on bulk co2 or HPA.

I have a Crosman 2289, the front sights looks exactly like the one in the picture. Standard Crosman sights I guess.

My question is, how do you remove the front sight from the barrel without damaging the sight ? The barrel is steel, the sight is plastic. Should I apply heat, paint thinner ? Or just pull it off with brute force ?

On my old 2289, the sight was held on by friction only. So try twisting it a little on each side then pulling it out. The barrel end has a notch cut into it that matches with the inside of the sight, but not perfectly.

great purchase, Huntsman. These airguns are fantastic!

I'll post some pics of mine later. I configured it like a mauser broomhandle, as I prefer rifle configurations for varmint shooting.

Canadian Tire stocks them out here. Maybe you need to make a road trip to somewhere more rural.

DAGS Crosman 2240. And Canadian Airgun Forum. Between the two, you should come up with someone close.

Cheers

Okay! Couldn't find my damn digital, but I figured I needed to show my C02 pig off. This is my 2240 modified short rifle. Sorry for the Rambo pics, but it's the best I can do with this akwardly built in laptop camera. Enjoy!
