Crosman 760

Does the Crosman 760 have the same piston and valve as the Crosman 13XX series?

And as importantly, does it have a smooth bore or does it have a rifled bore?

Mine has a smooth bore, but not sure if the valve is the same or not. It also has (had) a relief valve off the bottom of the main valve to de-tune it to <500 fps. The relief valve has since been removed and the hole was soldered in. I keep it in the gun safe and treat it as if it were a non-restricted gun. I've never tested it but it is quite "snappy" now. I've had it since the early 80's.

The valves for the 760 and 13xx airguns are not the same. The main difference is the transfer port hole, they use a different seal system
between the valve and barrel.

I just got a flyer in the mail from Big R Stores states side.On the main page they list the 760 for $19.95.
Is that a good price and would I be able to bring it across the line?

Probably not. I want to pick one up without giving a Canadian retailer a reach-around. Pretty hard to do these days.
