1629hrs a young buck walked out and the crossbow was successful again.
Made the decision this weekend to take the best shot, buck or doe, but I prefer to keep my does local. It's a tough bush to hunt.
I have seen 4 does, and 4 bucks, but the large 9pt has eluded me every time except for the drive in on a place I couldn't shoot... otherwise only on camera at night or on days I wasn't able to hunt.
I passed on does several times, passed on a small spike buck last week, as shots were ok but tonight was a near perfect shot at 20 yards. Double lung, cut the top of the heart, deer still managed to run over 75 yards.
Was a 250 yard drag to my truck, and now he is hung in the garage for processing Wednesday.
Thanks for reading.
