I took my air rifle out about a week ago, I have not used it in years, I got it as a teen. The pellets would not go through a single side of a cardboard box.

Any idea what seals may have dried up? There is no damage but there does not seem to be any build up of pressure.

Thanks

There are only 2 main seals on that rifle. The piston seal that pushes the air and the breach seal that keeps the air sealed at the barrel. Place a tissue over the seam of the break barrel and fire it with a pellet in it. If it blows a hole in the tissue, the breach seal is bad. if it doesn't, the piston seal is bad or the spring is broken.

Not an airgun guy much at all, it is just mine from when I was a kid and now that I want to shoot it again I cannot even mark paper, ha ha ha.

It was the main seal, took it apart today and the thing was a mess.

Now to find a 10087 seal, that may be a problem.

Just an update, Fox Sporting Goods is out of Perth (30min from my house) and they cannot arrange to meet, will only ship and will charge me $49 for a seal.

Gravel has the part, $10, $14 shipping, no other option but to ship it.

I am willing to drive to get these parts but even with a phone number and a business and living within 30min of my house I cannot even meet at Tims to get the seal.

Anyone else think this type of thing is bologna?

J+G Airguns in the States carries everything ever made just about and ships to Canada.I get parts all the time.....we had a Crosman parts store in Edmonton but not sure if they are still around?....Harold

I just ordered from them, 3 main seals and 5 o-rings, no need to worry about finding them anymore.

I even ordered a spare spring, all for about the same as 1 repair kit locally shipped to my house.

Why do we ever try to support local?

I keep reading the thread title "795-no power" and I'm reminded of a time when I was a kid...being on the receiving end of a .177 watcutter fired from a Crosman 795. lol They have power when running right. :)

Geeeez did you try scopesandammo.com? I've resealed ten or so old Crosman pistols never ran into such crazy pricing

However, glad to know about J&G I haven't tried them before. I'll add em to the list.

$10 for the part and $15 for shipping, for an o-ring.

J&G I got a spring, 3 main seals and 5 o-rings, came out to about the same as 1 rebuild kit from any Canadian places.

I shot a lot of groundhogs as a kid with it, close range mind you.

It is not a good pellet gun but it was one I bought with my own money as a kid and now at 32 I want to get it running again, we have a red squirrel problem here and a 22LR has too much range to be very safe out back.

I can relate to that^. I've contemplated getting a 795, but have a 1377 I got as a gift 31 years ago. Has the 1399 shoulder stock that has been broken/fixed at least 1 or 2 times. Boy, if that air pistol/carbine could talk. My constant companion for years..

Wear eye protection, took a wad cutter right between the eyes and it left a red dot, missed low on a barn sparrow and hit hardwood.

Pellet guns are where we started, I still have my pistol and my rifle from before my PAL days. I also have the camp BB gun, I bought it so we could have fun at the camp with little noise, we ended up using it for shooting mice, ha ha.

Oh the stories.

Parts are ready for shipping, a lot less trouble with J&G, a few more bucks but I have 3 sets of spares coming :)
