Crossman CO2 12gr

Have an issue with a couple guns that use 12gr Co2 cyl. The guns leak at the seal with the 12gr cyl. I talked to the companies that I bought the two guns from and they told me it was because the 12gr cyl I use are dirty Co2 and cause problems wirth the seals. Even though they leaked from the beginning. the brand of Co2 I am using is Crossman. Now It all makes sense except that two other guns I have have never had a problem with the 12gr cyl from Crossman. So what is your thoughts?

The person you were dealing with is ignorant and came up with an answer.
There is no dirty co2. Seals eventually leak because the gas breaks them down
and they all eventually fail. You could try a drop of crosman pelgun oil on the
Neck of the co2 cart where it pierces. Sometimes that fixes things.
You really arent giving us much info for instance what gun and where is the leak?
 
I'm not a airgun guru but I'm guessing that it's just the seal on that particular gun. how much pressure do you apply when you tighten the CO2 cartridge? Should be just enough. Do you leave the cartridge in there for extended periods?

Just change the seal and find out. They are pretty standard and some I saw even make them from pieces of rubber.
 
Well I was a little vague with the details because I don't want people to jump on my back or get speeding tickets from the moderators.
At the risk of getting you guys mad at me or getting banned I will divulge the details.
First of all I want to state I do not play paintball or airsoft games. I do own some airsoft guns only because that allows me to have guns that are otherwise prohibited.

Pellet/BB guns I have that use Co2 12gr and do not leak on Crossman brand Co2 12gr

- Crossman Vigilante revolver .177 pellet and BB
- Baikal Drozd .177 BB SMG select fire

Airsoft guns I own that have propane/green gas mags that don't leak but Co2 mags that do leak

- Skeleton Arms SS17 (Glock 17)
- VFC MP5A3 select fire

Now I want all to realize that I understand the desire to ban the airsoft talk form the forum to keep the Rambo kids and the image they have from CGN. I don't own these few I have for any other reason than giving me the pleasure of using FA and an MP5 in a country that wont let me otherwise. I am far too old (near 50) and far to out of shape to play such foolish games so please don't put me in that airsoft demographic.

I don't put much pressure when tightening the cyl, always wet the seals with 15wt silicon oil, and never leave cyl in the gun when done.

Are you using proper oil, to keep the seals all good.

I know mine required a drop or a bit of oil on the c02, before I tighten it.
