Hey there.

My father just pulled out an old Crossman model 454 CO2 pistol that he bought back in the 80s when he lived in California... only to find that the trigger was broken.

When fired, it doesn't go back into position and needs to be manually pushed back into place before you can fire again.

I figured that I should ask you guys before taking it down. Have any of you encountered this problem before?

DAGS for Crosman Airguns Forum and look around there. Somewhere on the forum is a link to downloadable diagrams of the various Crosman models.

Chances are really good that the trigger spring has been knocked off of the trigger or it was poorly assembled. Another possibility is that the oils have gotten crusty enough to gum up the mechanism, and prevent the spring from doing it's thing.

Well, the trigger pull and the safety are definitely much smoother now, but the problem is still there. I'm guessing it has to do with the tension of the spring.
