Hey everyone,

I wanna take out some of my friends to shoot some clays. I would go to the range but we just want to chill and relax at the same time and really don't want to be anywhere thats busy.

I've been to some crown land north of the 400 near barrie but was wondering if there are any places near oakville/burlington where we can go.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Not much around that area. The closest crown land, is probably the land that you already went to, near Barrie. Sounds like you need to find a farmer in the area, who is willing to let you use his land to shoot clays. That's probably your only option. Good Luck

best bet might be to head over to silverdale, pretty sure you can pay and walk on without being a member, Its about an hour 20 minutes from burlington

excellent skeet facilities, just call them first to make sure someone is there to setup the machine :shotgun:

I know what you mean...dont want to be bothered by anyone, just you and a couple of buddies sporting clays on a nice day. It's hard to find a good place, and everyone will tell you "you cant"....but I say YES I CAN !, f*ck ya. I've been going to my place at HWY 400 & HWY 88 for about 4 years....45 min drive from Mississauga.

The only other palce I can think of might be up near Milton on the escarpment. Rural enough, but I don't know how much of it is likely to be federal crown land. You would have to do some homework.

Just be forewarned that shooting clays on Crown Land could land you with a charge of littering unless you pick up all the shot clay pieces. Stupid yes but just something to think about.

I'm in that general area and I don't know of any conservation area or public lands where shooting is permitted. Even if it were leaving pieces of clay targets and plastic wads scattered all over public lands, particularly those near adjacent urban centres, is the act of a slob shooter scumbag.

There are several clay shooting clubs not far from the Burlington area many of which permit non-members to shoot Give them a try.
