Just purchased a new rifle and this what the crown looks like. Not sure if it is from the front sight being attached? Don't think it will affect the accuracy? Hoping the bluing won't come off later.

Not a problem if its purely cosmetic. Anyone seen this before?

I would expect at least some loss of accuracy & precision.

It may not make a lot of difference - which was surprising to me.

But I would take a soldering iron & some solder wick to clean it up. Looks like an easy fix.

But thinking about this - I would be concerned about the quality of that solder joint as it looks like maybe a "cold joint". A proper solder joint would pull all that solder into the joint. It looks amateur.

Brand new rifle. Bought online. Guess that's Zastava's "fit and finish". Disappointed that it was sent like that.

If I did try to remove what is thought to be solder wouldn't that remove the bluing also? Seems like it is blued over what ever that is.

Looks like flux that just ran away from when they were sweating on the front sight, if you shoot it much the bluing will disappear from the muzzle area anyway.

It appears to be some kind of adhesive to bond the front sight. I've seen this on the Zavasta rifles.
