Hey guys,

I'm wondering if anyone uses a crown protector or muzzle cap or whatever they are called, when cleaning their .223 VZ 58's? Mine has a chrome lined bore. I'm thinking of getting a dewey rod, just wondering about protecting the crown. If I need to (or if it would be a good idea) to buy one, where would I find one. Thanks!

Seriously, no one has any input on how they clean their chrome lined .223 rem VZ 58? lol, Or if they use a crown protector/muzzle cap? :)

As long as you don't use a cleaning rod for a .17 caliber rifle, a crown protector isn't needed for the .223 Vz 58 which is why it doesn't come with one. A standard cleaning rod will have very little room to move around in that tiny 5.56mm bore.
