CSA 5.56 AR Mag Adapter???

is there any AR mag adapter on the canadian market, would really help me make a decision whether or not to buy a CSA 5.56 rifle...
I have a CSA in 5.56 (rifle, non-restricted). Wolverine Supplies told me that an adapter to use AR-15 mags is in the works, perhaps it's already tested by now, and I have my name on the list to get it as soon as it arrives. I hope this helps. However, even without it, having a quality semi-auto non-restricted in 5.56 is, by itself, a great incentive to buy. I have not fired mine yet, being winter and all, but taking it apart and inspecting all parts, it looks very good.

I searched 'CSA adapter' and this is the only post that came up... so, any update on the AR-Mag adapters for the 5.56 variant?

[I thought I read more on the adapter, but they must be buried in other posts]

Are they coming or not?

I've done the search and asked the question...

Answer: Soon. That's all you will get.

And it is not a drop in adapter, will take smithing/fitting.

This is North Sylva's reply to me asking the same question (I just got a 5.56 CSA and would love to have an adapter as well). See post #100 in this thread.

The mag adapter are a high priority for us. Once they are ready, we will get as many as we can ASAP.

I hope they get them soon, because ti will make the CSA .223 VZ-58 twice as fun!

Mmmmm...

Yeah, I'm definitely down for the 5.56 shorty then since it looks like the AR-adapters are on the horizon (10rnds!!)

###y!

From CSA :

M-16 / AR-15 magazine adapter

13.06.2011 | Upon request of our American and mainly Canadian customers we have prepared a magazine well adapter allowing the use of M-16 / AR-15 magazines in our Sa vz. 58 Rifles / Carbines in 5.56 x 45 mm caliber.

Great! Now if they could only ship it smart to our retailers, so that there's no useless delays on the part of our law-ignorant CBSA...

I remember one American e-bay seller who would ship SKS (and other) rifle stocks, flash hiders and scope mounts across the world and mark "plastic & metal furniture parts" on the shipping label (as to the package's contents). He wasn't lying... it was furniture... rifle furniture, lol!

Coincidentally, his buyers apparently used to receive packages from him very fast... so I guess it did help a little.

:D

I haven't read anything to suggest that. On a US board CzechPoint has posted that the adapter will be polymer and from the Czech Republic.

Hmmm...I was sure NEA had mentioned the adapter would be "coming soon" in a previous thread...

...then again, that could also be Aluminum Pot Syndrome kicking into high gear as well.
