If will work I will be very happy. Eye relief is right at the border, but I am not sure about casing extraction. It might just clear the scope looking at the extractor, but deflector might be necessary. Anyhow, it will be fun to test on 18.5 and 11.5 CSAs to see their capabilities.

You'd have casing bouncing off the bottom of the scope with that set up, at least mine would. Mine will eject strait forward some times, I've had casing come down and hit the barrel while lining up the next shot.

Yep. that's my concern as well. I may wrap the scope with tape for temporary use and see how it goes. I really want to see grouping at 100 and up with this scope.

I suppose a couple layers of cotton with some denim wrapped around it then wrapped around the scope might work short term.

Somehow I still haven't take a picture of mine with the new dust cover and reflex sight on it.. I'll have to fix that.. some day.. when I'm not using it :p

If people would just be smarter with their scope and rings selection, the side scope mount, even the high version, would be perfectly fine.

I have the same rifle with a 1-4x20mm scope. Im getting 2" - 2.5" even with Norinco at 100 meters.

That wouldn't work with mine, it ejects straight up and forward. I think you might encounter some stoppages as your ejected cases are going to bounce back into your action. Good luck with it though. I used the original high side mount with a long optic and used one of the cheap NCstar hook in your rear sight case deflectors it worked, but just fair.
