I recently purchased the Short Optic Mount and the required Side Rail for my VZ58.

To other owners of the mount: did it fit snug right out of the box?

Either I am doing something really retarded or there is a problem with mine. When I slide the mount onto the rail, even with the screw tab in locked mode the fit is extremely loose.
Help pls.

Some pics might help out a bit better, not pics off the site but of your rifle instead and the problems encountered.

Seems like it may need to be tightened via a screw or something, so the base is on the rifle all screwed in but once the scope mount slides on the base it wobbles around??

The pic I snap will look exactly like the pic in the URL.... it wont really show you what the problem is because it looks identical.
To be clear:
The side rail is attached to the VZ58 securely.
The scope mount slides on easily enough, and there is a screw/tab system that you turn to tighten it a bit and then snap closed.
Even with the tab in place, there is a ton of movement. I can only think of 3 reasons why:

1. I am doing something retarded
2. The screw with tab that tightens down is not tightening enough.
3. The unit itself was milled wrong etc.

I am leaning on #2 but I thought I would see if any owners of this setup have experienced similar issues or if theirs just worked perfectly out of the box.

thanks bfiles

First try to tighten the locking screw
I have few side mounts, original POSP made in Beloruss are the best.
CSA Short Optic Mount and Side Rail they are made in China you can buy the same mount off ebay for under $30.00. Whatever it is advertised to be it is not made in Czech republic. They were sold off ebay and through Honk Kong airsoft stores long before they were advertised as CSA Short Optic Mount

Could be but I doubt that as I know of the exact mount you are refering too. I have seen/handled several that say on it made in czech repub.

OK it turns out the problem was option #1.
Im a retard and didnt notice that I could tighten the bottom of the screw. It fits super snug now.
Sorry guys

I hope you are right bfiles,
I tried to find it for sale in Czech Rep when I visited my Mom there. I could not locate the maker. CSA doesn't make it in the house unless it is made across the border in Poland which I doubt.
One interesting fact about CSA they are not really that popular in Czech Republic. Apparently they are US company just producing in CZ

Like I said I have handled and seen both the airsoft version and the actually produced ones. They arent made by CSA but manufactured in the Czech Rep.

I do know that North Sylva had a very big hand in getting them made to the standards they figured what people would want, ie... Tabbed from the get go, thicker receiver walls to accommedate scope mount bases, painted black cuz it semms everyone b!tched about the finish. They have a very LOOOOONG thread on it several years back. Take a look, its a great read.

@ konjo, glad you figured it out. I knew there had to be a screw that needed tightening.
