I was originally torn between a T97 and A VZ58, but I am leaning towards a VZ58. I am wondering if I can get some input into the VZ 58 too see what people have had luck with them. I know there were Gas port, and bolt issues with the 2013 models, but how about the newer ones? Also, How about Chrome lined or Non Chrome lined? I am leaning towards the .223 cause I want something in that Caliber and it seems like a cool gun. Since the .223 I will not be shooting Corrosive, is the Chrome lined a big deal? And even if it was corrosive would it be a big deal considering I clean after shooting anyways. Anyhow opinions wanted :) Fire away!!

Thanks for the help :)

Search this red rifle forum and you will find a lot of info about the gas port issues.

The issues seem to be with SOME 2013 models, mostly the .223 versions. I have a 762 version and it seems to be running fine.
Vz 58's are great guns i absolutely love mine. easy to tear down and clean and super fun to use.
Buy one and enjoy.

Chrome lined from what I understand causes some loss of accuracy, and make it a little easier to clean from what I have heard. My vz is not chrome lined I just clean it after every use. no rust yet.

VZ85 all the way. I love mine, 2014 model works great I shoot corrosive mine has a non chrome barrel. It cleans up fine no rust.
