Was just wondering how all the Wolverine sale winners like their 5.56 VZ58 rifles? Any complaints about quality, fit or finish? Still glad you got it? btw I've seen pics of some flaking finish on these guns is that common?

I suppose...mods plz move it there.

btw why is it people discus them in the 'red rifles' forum but list them for sale in the blank rifle section?

Quality, fit and finish are exactly the same on my CSA 5.56 as my CSA 7.62 which was also from Wolverine. I haven't experienced any flaking of the finish. I did see one pic in the EE section where the paint on the front sight/barrel area was flaking if that is what you where referring to? Not sure what caused that but I haven't heard of any similar issues.

Only put 20 rounds through mine yesterday.

Muzzle flash with Federal black box 55 grain stuff is potent.

When I first took it outta the box, I was disappointed. Rifle didn't "jump out" at me. Was glad that I didn't pay full price. But upon learning how to take apart and lube it up, it grew on me.

Not a fan of the plastic mags that came with the rifle. Can see the leading edges of the tops rounding off. Maybe getting nicks in them.

But do look forward to getting it out again.

The brass ejecting outta mine was going up into the rafters (in the overhead inclosure) bouncing around a few times and landing about a foot or two to my right. This had me giggling.

I bought mine when they first came out. I like mine. Had one or two FTF with American Eagle black box ammo, (but NOT with any other ammo type). The firing pin doesn't look like it protrudes much thru the bolt raceway/hole when pressed, so maybe this is the factor here. Or maybe AE Black box has harder primers than other ammo?

I havent shot mine yet (no time) but I bought it used and I love the look and feel of it (tho bit heavy). Finish is really nice.

I have no desire to own an AK after buying this.

Just sent it to get the gen 2 mag adapter installed, so I can use LAR 10 rounders, cant wait.

I got lucky I guess, it is free because it falls under the special serial range, otherwise I think its $50 to machine (if needed) and $85 for adapter.

Apparently installation is not difficult and only takes a few minutes

Wolverine 550

btw does DLASK AKM Style Brake fits this gun? I'm pretty sure they're for 7.62x39 models tho.
