So i finally got around to doing a thorough test of my VZ 58s accuracy at 100m. Pretty much all 5 shot groups... the shooting conditions weren't ideal, but i think its still a reasonable representation of what one can expect for accuracy.

Gun basically shoots 1.25 - 2.25 MOA with premium ammo like the SST. And shoots more like 2.5 - 3.5 MOA with surplus.

good shooting with the hornaby, i wonder what the results would be under ideal condition.

btw, those are one expensive ammo, quick check of the prices and they are like $50 a box of 50s, wow!!!

Sometimes it can be scored for sub $50 prices. Its good stuff to use on big game. I need to buy more now lol

I had 2MOA groups with Barnaul hollow-points from 2016 batch.

I'm still trying to find some proof that CSA 18.6" barrels are made by Lothar Walther like US 16" ones. That would explain why CSA shoots better than CZ.

In the past I had both CZ's and CSA's. The best CZ858 I had would outshoot any of the CSA's any day of the week and with any ammo. 154 grain Wolf soft points shot especially well in all the guns I have owned. Too bad we can't source that stuff up here.

Just went out shooting today, it was really windy, between 5mph to 15mph. I tried the steller bellot soft point, at 90m, did two 3 round groups. Two groups are identical, two round stacking on top of each other, one round 4-5 inches above. Anyone have similar result? I'm going to try again with better weather condition.

I've pounded out 8,081 rounds through my CSA Vz. 58 -- yes, I keep track -- and I've seen slightly sub-2 MOA groups even with Russian surplus. Granted, with surplus ammunition I usually see 3-3.5 MOA groups. It is an reasonably accurate rifle all things considered.

Have you had to replace any parts?
