Curious about RFB cases and brakes....

So I bought a RFB 18.5" a few months ago and would like to know from other RFB owners.....

- Has anyone found a compact case for it? Something that it would fit in scoped? All my cases are 42" or longer and narrow so it won't fit in scoped. It would be nice to get a small case for it and save some room in my small car's trunk...

- Has anyone gotten the barrel threaded? Or maybe installed a clamp on brake that will stay in place and not get spit out after a few rounds? I've read on the internet that threading it will void the warranty, but I did not find any mention about it in the manual.

Thanks!!!!

If you bought it used you have no warranty anyway, if you have the gas system set correctly you won't need a brake. KelTek only warranties to the original owner.
My rifle was extremely smooth and easy on the shoulder once I had the gas system set. I stayed to 165gr and lighter projectiles and had handloads using everything from 110gr v-max up to 165gr SST's.
Adding a brake to a rifle with the muzzle that close to you is going to be extremely loud.
Just follow the manual and understand what your doing when you adjust the gas system. Stick to one type of ammo once you find something it shoots well and back off the gas till it quits locking back on an empty mag then give it 2 clicks more gas and you'll enjoy it all afternoon.

Contact Dlask if you must get it threaded but I wouldn't bother.

I bought it new, that's why I'm worried about voiding the warranty.
I was thinking of getting it threaded for a Linear comp, I like the way they direct the noise forward. LOL, it is already loud without a brake.
But if it void warranty, I'll just leave it as it is.

For the case, I got a nice small shotgun takedown case and it fits just perfect.

I've been using reloads with 150gr FMJ bulk hornady and accuracy is not bad. Still have to try other options.

Thanks for the tips. I'll double check the gas adjustments.

The best accuracy I was able to get was about 1.5moa with my handloads. The hardest thing when developing a load for it is getting it properly supported on the table so you are actually testing the ammo alone. Once I figured it out I found my load and then went back to what the rifle is best at which is offhand shooting.

Some days I regret selling that rifle.

Supposedly Dlask is the only place approved by the importer to thread the barrel, anyone else voids the warranty.
I didn't find mine all that loud and shot it numerous times without hearing protection, I don't recommend that but I didn't find it that bad. A linear would look pretty good but won't help with what your shoulder feels.
I'd play with it some more and get the gas system dialed in perfectly for your loads then decide if it really needs to be messed with. Mine was one of the smoothest shooting 308's I've shot once I got it set properly.
You'll also notice that once it breaks in you'll be able to give it a little less gas.

Mine came with a linear comp straight from Keltec... It's very nice but still rings my left ear slightly without muffs.

I can just barely squeeze it into a 38" soft scoped rifle case with my 3-9 in a lupy cantalever on top.

I bought a shotgun takedown case from Lebaron and cut the pillar that is in the middle of the box.
If fits really nice and is only 35"

I had mine in a Pelican 1700. It was a perfect fit for the rifle with enough room for a few extra mags. Kinda pricey though. The case got new foam and is now holding my NR ACR with the stock folded :)
