What the heck bullet is it is the question? The cannelure diameter seems to be the least squashed?

Why those two pics in particular? Am I not using the calipers right?

I'm not sure what the intended purpose was. We had a couple of rounds kicking around the house when I was a kid, but they got fired off in a plinking session.

I love digging up stuff like that.
I used to turn up very corroded 45-70 balloon head brass and 44 rimfire cases from a Henry rifle in the folks potato patch.
Makes me think someone a couple hundred years from now will have a field day digging up my 100 yard backstop dirt.

Looks like the slugs the skinners pulled out of my sable in Mozambique. Local poachers used home made black powder rifles and shot chunks of rebar etc at animals with limited success.

I'd buy that it is one of those 30/30 loads. Wouldn't mind seeing a picture of the projectile itself if anyone has one.

The question remains though; why om earth does anyone need a rn fmj 30/30 lol

Ah, dominion must have overproduced in anticipation of a Japanese invasion and moved to selling them commercially
