Current good scrap price for lead???

I generally pay $0.35/lb for scrap that I have to process into ingots. Once in ingots, if I sell, they would go $1/lb.

If you are talking foundry ingots, I have bought the as low as $0.35/lb too.

Currently, around here, scrappers are buying lead at $0.50/lb and wheel weights at $0.25/lb

Anyone know a good price for selling lead ingots currently? Looking around but not much info on what cast lead ingots are worth.

The spot price for lead on the Cast Boolits web site gives close to $1 US a pound. I just bought 8 pure lead ingots locally for $1 Cdn per pound.
Finding it without having to pay shipping is the challenge.

Any ideas of where I guy can look 'locally' for lead. Getting into casting, and other than wheel weights that most garages are reluctant to get rid of, haven't got a clue where to look.
Thanks

I had most luck with scrap metal places.
Just drop in at scrap metal businesses in your area and ask.
In case they dont have any just return a month or two later.

You might pay a bit more per lb than for ww but you can pick what lead you buy and have less waste with processing.
Im in town and the smoke of ww processing is also a bit more than i like so I'm willing to spend a little more for cleaner lead.

or check kijiji for guys that offer to pick up scrap metal for free and offer them a bit more than the scrap metal business is paying them.
