Current manufacture Marlin 39A quality...your thoughts?

Hi Folks,

Has anyone seen a recent production Marlin 39A rifle? If so, how did you think it looked?

I have an older Marlin 39, last March I handled a new model. I racked the action, then promptly put it back. No where near the quality that I am used to with my old timer.

I've had the same experience. The older ones are much better.

Did you take it apart? Is it exactly the same inside if so then it would need

about ten or more years of levering(maybe 40) to be as slick as the old ones!

Anything more concrete out there to offer with respect to differences in the quality of the parts or the production process between new vs. old Marlin 39A levers? The green vs. slick action in older used vs. new models is certainly an important point to consider, but is that where the difference ends or is there more to the story?
