Current Norinco batch quality

Hello gents, can anyone comment on the quality of the current batch of Norinco M305's available at SFRC?
I've been on the fence about getting one for a while and wondering if now's a good time to "pull the trigger"?!?!
 
I'd say typical hit and miss.
If I'm buying new Norinco products I like to do it from a dealer that will stand behind the product and deal with any issues quickly and painlessly.
 
Can't speak to the ones you ask about but can comment upon two recent purchases:

The Norc available last year through Marstar was a bit 'iffy' with canted front sight and some other QC problems - no big deal if you are used to the rifle and don't mind a bit of tinkering.

This year's short (18.5) versions ( I got mine thru Al Flaherty's ) appear to be the best finished that I've seen ( 2007 - thru to today ). Id rate this one as the best out of the box I've seen.

I am agree.
 
I have to agree with Tomochan and the others, the new ones are much better than previous years. On par with a USGI M1 in a lot of areas, though still not as good. But what is? :p
Mine only had a canted front sight though its hardly noticeable. No ugly welds on the FH and no welds on the castle nut. Even the cast parts look good. The trigger is very smooth and fairly light for a battle rifle. The creep is about right but could be a hair shorter for my liking. Overall its everything I could ask for in a Chinese rifle, I'm actually impressed with it. This from a guy who finds grievances with far more expensive rifles. Pick one up and enjoy it, you won't be sorry.
 
Saw one at the LGS. The wood stocks are sure nice. The wood on my old one was replaced with a USGI. I'm thinking about getting another one. Not sure what the wood is on the new ones. Sure is pretty

That is italian walnut. IT is very beautiful wood.

LOL I have been sneeking a few into the safe with out here Knowing. I wonder if it would be a good Easter gift. #### a M1 for her a M1a for me and a lot of Chocolate for her Ammo for me. Do you think she will buy it? Well I get the M1A and she might have to wait for her M1. I need to convince myself to buy it. I know WHA WHA Marriage is a hard thing KIDS EAT Not like ammo

I absolute understand.
I have 3 beautiful kids and anti wife. Do you know how long does it take for her to sign my RPAL application? It took me almost 5 years to educate her the different between weapon and firearms. She just thick as mud. I understand why she hate gun from her background and it was very bad experience to her family. Long story short, now she encourage me to go to practice shooting and let my kids come with me. She and her family also signed the petition to repeal bill C-68.

Love to hear that. Keep up the good work. I can't tell you how much ammo it has cost me to take new shooters to the club. I have brought fathers and sons Husband and wifes. Some have never shot a gun before. I can recall one coworker I put out several handguns a 22lr to a 44mag. she was a youg lady never shot before. She started with a 22 revolver At the end she was shooting a full house 44 mag. This girl had a smile on her face that nobody would take it off. OH yea and pictures #### they shoot for 1 hour and take pictures for 2 We as gun owners Nonrestricted and Restricted we are lucky. Do you Know how many people would love to go out and shoot a semi rifle or a handgun. They never get the chance unless some of us (Bad People) like the goverment labels us. Will give them the chance. As all of us gun owners you would never give a new shooter a 12 gauge with a slug, or a full house 44 mag We introduce them right. We love this sport and why would turn new shooters away. A pearson could only shoot a 22 for years but if they are taught right they will grab that 9mm and not be afraid. I guess I'm venting with the recent bands. It's pissing me off. Maybe would should take some Politicians to the range and introduce them to the firearms world. Sorry not to side track on OP I do apologize
