CZ got me hooked on CRF style rifles and I've bought a handful more since. What are some current production rifles that continue to offer CRF now that CZ has discounted the 550 and 527?

1. Winchester Model 70
2. Ruger M77 (still in production?)
3. Heym Express

What others?

Dakota (if they are still in business?) but they are pretty pricey. CRF rifles are getting harder to find. Less manufacturers are making them because they cost more to produce, and the average hunter doesn't even know the difference.

So

Winchester
Ruger
Heym
Kimber
Montana Rifle Company
Dakota Arms (now Parkwest)

I believe that Zastava has recently resumed production of their LK M70 series of 98 Mausers. How long until they trickle in to our market, who knows. They are very nice commercial Mausers with a so-so stock. The actions are interesting, they are an 'intermediate' size as opposed to a long action.

Also, if you are REALLY brave there is the Chinese/Norinco distributed M334. I am not condoning the use of these, and they do trigger the gag reflex, but they technically are available. Pretty spotty QC by the sounds of it, but if you wanted a bush beater, it may be OK.

If you have time, just be patient and wait. I see good ones come up on the EE a few times a year.
Wait for a Ruger. They are the most rugged.
Like others have said on here, most 338's won't be shot out. Some might have lots of carrying wear but likely are still good.
If you wanted to take a chance and maybe restore one, there is a well worn pre 64 model 70 with a leupold 4x in 338 on fsjnow.com for $900, and another one of there for $650 that has an after market barrel and stock. Might be a place to start. It is the fort st. john local classifieds.

Kimber, Winchester, heym, zastava, CZ, sako(sort of), Dakota and any number of small custom makers.

Are Sakos are actually CRF? I've seen many here argue against that. I know the 85 used some kind of hybrid design but the latest 90 series is apparently back to pure pushfeed?

It looks like all the bespoke English gun makers make a CRF Mauser based rifle but they are all 10s of thousands (if not hundreds).

Always interested in the CRF or CRF adjacent rifles not based on the Mauser.

Mannlicher schoenauer, haenel sporters , LAW, bighorn armory, the ARC nucleus and other designs, SAKO 85, the new CZ

Probably more I've never heard of too

THE CZ 600 SERIES FEATURES A PATENT PROTECTED BOLT DESIGN THAT ENSURES 100% USER-CONTROLLED FEED

They say it's crf, weird ejector on the bolt face that is somehow controlled by how forcefully you pull the bolt back.

They aren't really CRF. They most recently had a semi-claw extractor but they lacked the feeding characteristics of a controlled round feeding system (meaning that when chambering a round they were pushed home until the extractor popped into the extractor groove). They were a great action, but not a true CRF like a Model 98 or Model 70.

The defiance has been discontinued apparently. Not sure when and if it will become available as a component but the Echols LX 1 is another
