Custom 30-06.Built on a Fab NAt De arms de Guerre action from Herstal Belgium sir number 140x.Has Belgium proof marks on the barrel.
24in barrel with very good bore.Nice wood has a couple of handing marks, has been full length bedded.Bluing good but has a couple of marks.
Redfield rings and bases with Redfield 1.5x5x20 wide view scope.Trigger is nice. The stock may be from Wheatherby, has Weatherby recoil pad.

Just looking to see if you can help with who made it in the 70's came from Ont.Is it worth the $700 I paid for it?

You did well, action alone is worth nearly that. Fine looking wood in the stock as well.
I paid 600 each for two in .30-06 about 5 years back, not nearly the quality of stock-work and no scope or mounts.

Folks that do not appreciate nice wood and a solid action will disagree - of course.
Ignore them.

I think that you did pretty darn well. You'd be hard pressed to find a package rifle for less money than that and your components are much better than you'd get with a 783/Axis package.

It is very much of an era, but that I think just adds to its charm. Wood looks excellent and I think you would be hard pressed to equal the quality of your the rifle for double the cost you paid with anything new of the shelf today.

Candocad.

Very nice rifle. I have a M1912 Steyr Mauser in 30-06 that looks like it was built by the same guy. Very few guys customizing old rifles these days. And even fewer doing the woodwork. Thanks for posting

The stock looks very "Parker Hale" to me with the checkering and hoof looking grip cap...
