Jo Brook's carries BAT, and there are a few BR shooters on CGN who can advise on other importers (though JB is very well regarded in that community from what I've been advised). I do recall ATR or another western Canada dealer handling the Surgeon line of actions, but that was some time ago. All in all, it depends on what you want to do. BAT actions are considered top notch for range guns in the BR field. Surgeon are well regarded as "tactical" actions, able to perform in a multitude of conditions but not necessarily with the (temperamental) tolerances that the BAT is built to. IMHO, if I intended to use an action on the range, a BAT or Stiller BR action would be my choice. In the field, whether hunting, varmint shooting or in a "tactical" capacity (whatever that is) I would choose the Surgeon or Defiance or Stiller tactical action.
