I am getting together a custom rifle project and was wondering if anyone can recomend a stockmaker who specializes in or does checkering? name and contact info would be appreciated.

Howie Mason in Cranbrook B.C. has a CNC laser wood engraving machine that does an amazing job. Hundreds of patterns to choose from and about 100 bucks and 3 days turn around. You can look him up at "Mason's Trains" on the web. An economical option and the finished product is superb.
 
I specialize in gun stock checkering, I am presently doing a fleur-de-lis. I have just completed another project as well. I have been checkering guns for 25 yrs. All my work is done by hand. I have done lots of different patterns, on every kind of gun out there, as well as customs. Prices very as to the type of pattern and custom look you desire. If you can email me the type of stock you have I may be able to tell you what might look the best. If you haven't picked a stock yet I would recommend Macon Stocks. Punch them up. They have excellent quality stocks and prices. Just did a Shilo Sharps on a Macom Stock of claro walnut for Longknife, also did a complete custom job for 240kell, both gunnutz members.
