Just curious if anyone in Canada makes Custom gun stocks? I am looking for one for my Ruger 10/22 LR and am after a Extra fancy walnut stock with nice checkering and finishing and Ebony Grip and Endcaps.

Something like this:

Anyone out there? Thanks

I phoned Wilcox gun works and spoke to chris about a custom stock. Very nice fellow, really eager to help.

Has anyone here ever had Chris do a custom stock for them? How's his work?

Re Arthur Troth. Last ones I saw him build were 2 forends and one buttstock for a Diana grade Browning- a couple of years ago. Price he told me was about $3000. This gives you an idea of his clientele. I know quite a number of years ago he did work for Prince Charles. He probably is now in his mid 60s and does limited work. But on the other hand he put a recoil pad on a 682 Beretta for me a short time ago for about $375

WOW. Stelios at SC Gunworks is price. Way, Way , Way out of my price range. Really nice wood blanks though (For that price, they better be):)

Stelios is expensive, but top notch. He has also done guns and stocks for many Royal's around the world. He is very well known for that type of work, but you are correct, he is big $$$$ and his waiting times are quite long due to his huge demand.

Just looked at SC and prices and will continue to go south of the border.
Just had a prone done in walnut by masterclass and it was great, finishing
work done by gun smith in manitoba was perfect.
Even Richards custom's in exhibition are around $ 15000 and you can pick
up excellent blanks for 1000 and under, usualy way under if you shop.

Master Class is good. Any wood stock takes mega time to finish well and one has to be prepared to pay for it. A full time gun builder has to earn a living and he can't do that at $7.50 an hour.
