Just an idea I came up with. Bought an old leather bag at a yard sale and cut up the usable pieces of leather..here's what i came up with
1) I cut a strip of leather that would wrap completely around the lens and stitched it together with a slight overlap:

2) I used the old lens cap as my pattern for the round part of the cover, but made it a little bigger to allow for stitching...when you stitch it together, stitch it inside out and once you're done, you can fold it the goodside out on itself..:

3) Do your test fitting and see how it sits...as I stitched the round part to the "ring" part I had to trim some excess leather off...the trick is to have the "ring" part stitched together first so that you know it fits over the lens opening...that's the reason I made my pattern bigger from the original cover. After the test fit, I trimmed it to my liking, and that was it! I also cut a strip of leather so that the front and back cover are connected, like the old school covers. Have any questions, feel free to message me! Happy shooting

If I get enough positive feedback on the covers, I'll do a post on the shock absorbing buttstock as well, which works amazing!! I shoot this thing ALL DAY LONG!
