This is a really unique rifle and I thought I'd share a few photos. I don't have all of the details, but I can share a little bit about this custom one-of-a-kind Montana Rifle that was originally built for my father (and later a gift to me). Chambered in .300WSM, it features the Professional Hunter Action (the PH is a double square bridge Mauser action with controlled round feed and a three position safety) and a ported chrome moly matte blued finish barrel. It also has an integrated picatinny rail for optics. Just beautiful woodwork and craftsmanship (the photos don't really do it justice).

If you like the rifle this next part will make you cringe: in their infinite wisdom, CBSA decided that this rifle shouldn't ship with the bolt installed, so they removed it upon entry into Canada and just threw it in loose with the rifle for the duration of the journey. I'll spare you the horror story, but you can well use your imagination (suffice it to say it took over 6 months and the gracious efforts of the Montana Rifle Co. to restore it).

It totally broke my heart to learn recently that CBSA will be cut be over 1,000 positions (karma is apparently a b*tch). ;) Anyway, just thought I'd share this (apologies in-advance for the photos - I didn't have a chance to correct in Photoshop before uploading). Enjoy!

When I clicked on this thread I sure didn't expect to see the rifle pictured. Wow! You don't often see that level of work anymore.

I'm amazed that anyone would leave the bolt loose in the packaging with any rifle, let alone that rifle. I'm amazed even more that anyone who would do something that could figure out how to remove the bolt from the receiver in the first place. Kudos to MRC for doing the repair work. I hope the CBSA imbecile responsible for the damage got his pee-pee slapped and has been retrained for something a little better suited to his abilities, say like a Walmart greeter!

Thanks guys, this is one of those "keepers" that I hope to pass down to my son someday and keep in the family. Yes, I can't ever say enough great things about MRC - truly a first rate company.

When the rifle shipped it was completely assembled; it was just someone @ CBSA who (in their infinite and extensive wisdom) apparently decided the bolt was an immediate and looming threat and threw it in loose to bang around against the rifle. I still shudder when I think about it... "Wal*Mart greeter" has a nice ring to it. :D

And no, I haven't shot it yet; it arrived very late last year and I've been waiting for it to warm up. My Dad put 20 rounds through it and just said it was a fantastic rifle. Should be pretty exciting...!

Thats my kind of Rifle! They checkering pattern is very unique! I like everything about that Firearm.

Too bad about the removing bolt issue in the past....Man some people are just Border line Retarded!

Eitherway Congrats on your Fine Piece!
