Custom Rfle Build

I have been thinking about building a custom rifle on a Win Model 70 stock that I have. Any suggestions on a custom action? I'am thinking about putting on a octagon barrell just because I can.

If you have a mdl 70 stock, I'd suggest you start with a Mdl 70 action, to ftt he stock...

Before you go any further you may want to make up your mind about whether this project is going to be a full custom (made just for you) or whether it will just be a put together of parts, eg; Winchester stock plus parts.

Same here .... ala 375/338.

I almost bought a $30 set of 6.5x57 dies at a show last year. Good thing I passed as it saved me another project I didn't need.

Try and find a model 70 action. A Montana action will drop in but I have head that the need alot of work and the company doesn't stand behind there product.

A Montana will not just "drop in". Find a Model 70, or an action that you like and build around it. I can't see the point to building around a $50 stock.
