Hey,

Just came across an American company that has some really cool designs for custom serrations on pistol slides.

A link to the video reviewing it can be seen here:

Anyways, I'm wondering if anyone knows of some good companies in Canada offering similar services and what the legal process would be to send the slide out to get something like this done.

Thanks!

Never heard of anyone in Canada doing that type of work. As for sending the slide to the US it might not be as bad as you'd guess. Since it's only the slide it technically doesn't fall under as many controlled categories as a frame would. Best bet is to call them and ask what the procedure is for foreign orders and go from there. gl

I found it really interesting, on the M45, slide cracking was occurring right at the forward serrations, that JMB didn't orginally include in the 1911 design.

Sending the slide to US isn't the problem. Make sure that you can get it back before you send it.

So to anyone wondering the same thing, I got in contact with IGFS (Innovative GunFighter Solutions) in the U.S. and they sent back this:

"We have actually been getting several requests from customers from Canada. I have a call into the U.S. ATF and Customs department to check on international requirements for such transactions to be conducted to make sure we can support customers coming from Canada as well. I will make sure to let you know as soon as I have final word and shipping requirements."

Not only was this an incredibly timely response, there was more to the email that made it personalized which is nice to receive rather than a mass-message.
