Hi everyone,
Hi, I posted the same thread on the hunting firearms forums, but I think you, long shooting guys, can help me starting customize my rifle

I have a 700 LSS in 270WSM, a rifle that I liked for the last 4 hunting seasons. I'm not realy into buying a long range shooting toy so i'm thinking about customizing my actual rifle that is good, I think!!!

First, i'm about to take off my Nikon for a new scope... something between Bushnell Elite 3200, 4200, any Leupold or Burris Fullfield II tactical. I spotted a bushnell in dark earth finish at my local store, but still don't know the model.

As I will keep the laminated stock and the stainless barrel, what should I look for to customize bolt action, trigger, base plate & internal magazine and scope mounts and base???

I would like to get a little of the "cool-factors" we find on long range toys on my hunting toy...

Thanks to all!!!

If you are keeping the factory stock barrel, all you are doing functionally is window dressing. Yes, bedding may help. Optically, a Nikon kicks the crap out of a Bushnell, so in my opinion you are taking step backwards goung Bushnell

What it it that you want, more accuracy or a cooler looking rfle?

My actual scope is a Nikon prostaff 3x9x40... it's not realy hard to go better. I'm on a maximum 700$ budget for a new optic...
Right now, I would like a lighter trigger, a bigger stainless bolt handle and if possible, a softer action. As for those rings and base plates, is there any problems with weaver if using a piccatiny full base plate?

And for the barrel, i'll wait for next year!
