The barrels were a very long and clumsy 28.5 inches, so I had my local smith lop off the barrels to 22 inches. The chokes were Mod/Full and now they are both cyl.
My son shot some slugs at a deer target at 50 yards...bullseye both barrels.
The buckshot opened up a little more than the M or F choked barrel but not as much as I thought, shooting SSG loads (0 buck) with 12 pellets it still got 8 pellets into the target at 40 yards. Three pellets were in the neck, two in the boiler room, and three in the far back ribcage.
Not much chance for a deer to leave the scene with a pattern like that.
