So I've been doing a little research on the Internet about cutting the carry handle off a mossberg as well as cutting down the barrel shroud with the picatinny rails. The barrel shroud looks a little better in my opinion (love the carbine look) but is it practical and functional or even possible to make it sturdy enough to mount optics for optimal consistent accuracy as far as mounting a picatinny rail to where the carry handle used to exist? I know the easiest option would be to just buy the flat top version but cash is a bit tight and I'm dying to change the look of this gun. Opinions?

I cut my handle off before the flattop version came out. Mounted a rail with washers. If you goooglw 715T carry handle mod. Im sure youll find the same website that guided my mod.
Being honset. I'd sell you gun. Take you loss and move to a different gun. Holding zero with the mod is hard and still clean is a pain!
Just my 2¢.
